Senior Financial Analyst

Augustine Consulting, Inc., an established, yet rapidly growing, company is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who has a passion for numbers, the ability to analyze them from various angles, and the skills to present them in a comprehensible manner. This is a corporate staff position within the Finance team that constantly collaborates with internal and external clients.


The Senior Financial Analyst must exercise exceptional judgment and possess strong problem-solving skills in performing his/her duties while complying with established policies and regulatory procedures including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), and other Government contracting guidance/regulations.



  • Understand contract documents as they relate to billing and revenue.
  • Ensure the contract setup/structure facilitates the proper accumulation of costs to support the billing requirements as specified in the contract or by the client.
  • Create and maintain billing files that include base contracts, subsequent modifications, invoice copies, revenue vs. billed/unbilled reconciliation, and customer correspondence.
  • Compare actual contract expenses against contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with the FAR, period of performance, funding, billing rates, and labor categories.
  • Generate biweekly/monthly invoices for Program Manager review/approval. Gather supporting documentation.
  • Input invoices into Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) or other contract-specific portals as required.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of billed/unbilled vs. revenue activity. Research and resolve unexplained reconciling items.
  • Monitor aged Accounts Receivable regularly. Follow up on payment discrepancies with clients.
  • Maintain compliance with Company financial policies and procedures.
  • Analyze expenditures and trends against funding and budgets. Prepare required recurring and ad hoc reports for contract related activity.
  • Develop pricing in support of Requests for Proposal.
  • Establish business relationships with internal and external customers.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance and a minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting Government Contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience using Unanet Financial software (or equivalent) including Project Setup, Expense Reporting, and Timekeeping
  • Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Time & Materials (T&M), and Fixed Price (FP) invoicing experience
  • Experience billing contracts having multiple Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) and Sub Line Item Number (SLIN) and Accounting Classification Routing Number (ACRN) on a single invoice
  • Uploading and navigating within WAWF
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (i.e., PivotTables, VLOOKUPs)
  • Advanced user of the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Teams…)
  • Familiarity with Defense Finance Accounting Services (DFAS) payment office
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with tight deadlines
  • Ability to assess, interpret, and apply Government/industry standards and specifications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills


  • General Ledger Experience
  • Knowledge of indirect rate pools and structures
  • Federal, State, and Local Tax Experience



  • Normal demands associated with telecommuting and office work. Ability to independently work for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face.
  • Estimated travel requirements not to exceed 20%
