Design Engineer

Augustine Consulting Inc. (ACI), an established provider of software engineering, technology, system integration, and select services to the Government, is currently seeking a Designer Engineer.  The Design Engineer will provide design leadership and interaction with appropriate NTESS technical staff as a point of contact for technical management of internal Design Organization and client’s work packages.


This position’s duties include assigning, working on, and guiding the technical work of a design definition team supporting work packages in coordination with various SNL team managers.  Communicating weekly the status of work packages through  NTESS system tracker.  Applying Design Definition knowledge and experience to independently assess work quality and performance; when needed, making improvements with the team to meet the expectations of clients and management.  Ensuring NTESS internal client needs and results through the creation and promotion of trust-based relationships.  Promoting excellence by managing and coordinating internal client specific team deliverables, schedules, and documentation of those deliverables to PRTs or other NTESS program management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Senior Level Designer with advanced technical knowledge of design engineering
  • A Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant STEM discipline with eight (8) or more years of design engineering experience of similar rigor and complexity as Sandia DE; or equivalent combination of completed Science Technology Engineering and Mathematic (STEM) education and design engineering experience of similar rigor and complexity as Sandia DE.  
  • A proven understanding of program management, client-supplier relationships, and business communications (a minimum of 5 years of experience in each).
  • Demonstrated leadership of personnel with technical knowledge of design engineering

  • Ability to transition knowledge to team members on work tasks and NTESS organizational requirements
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion with team members on managed tasks
  • Understanding of requirements and processes to handle sensitive information and classified matter
  • Complete professional understanding of, and experience in, an area of specialized applicable knowledge or broad professional understanding and experience in the interdisciplinary areas of design definition
  • Works under broad direction to accomplish long-range goals
  • Display independence in supporting and completing long-term projects and coordinate work with others as appropriate
  • May have case or project management responsibilities
