Augustine Consulting Inc. (ACI), an established provider of software engineering, technology, system integration, and select services to the Government, is currently seeking a Junior ECAD Designer to join our team of professionals in Livermore, CA.

Responsibilities:

As a Junior ECAD Designer your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Initiating, designing, developing, executing, and evaluating Design devices, components, apparatus, systems or equipment, multi-layer printed circuit boards, flex circuits and cables, systems or equipment layout of rigid, multilayer, flex, rigid-flex, analog, digital, radio frequency (RF), mixed-signal boards.
  • Providing schematic capture and Bill of Material (BOM) generation.
  • Establishing design criteria for impedance control.
  • Producing designs, models, and product definition.
  • Determining product requirements based on user needs.
  • Establishing design criteria and resolve problems of design.
  • Using CAD application software to develop design concepts.
  • Creating design definition documentation ensuring that the design can be effectively manufactured and inspected.
  • Evaluating design to manufacture options.
  • Generating fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and files for manufacturing, assembly, and test.
  • Specifying materials, equipment, and supplies required to complete product development and may evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  •  Knowledge of scientific and engineering methods.
  • Knowledge of designing, planning, and executing design, and development projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to team across disciplines.
  • Ability to understand and interpret various design documents, such as drawings and diagrams.
  • Ability to use and apply standard computer aided design (CAD) or computer aided manufacturing (CAM) principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Apply configuration management principles to manage design authorization and change.
  • Ability to work closely with customers and suppliers to define expectations and mutual responsibilities.

 

Tools:

  • ECAD Tools: Mentor Graphics DxDesigner for Expedition, Autodesk Inventor, Bentley Microstation, and the Microsoft suite of applications.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An Associate's Degree in a relevant engineering technology field from a Community College or an accredited Technical Institute plus at least 2 years of work experience or additional drafting/design certifications. Or, a Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering technology field plus some related work experience.

  • Efficient use of the suite of Microsoft Office products.
  • Able to work within the confines and restrictions of a classified environment including basic understanding of multi process environment for releasing CAD data encompassing classified, unclassified, weapon related and non-weapon related work.
  • Ability to manage multiple customers/jobs at the same time.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Capable of obtaining a DOE Q Security Clearance.
